Access to and from our car parks
Are there directions to your car parks?
We issue comprehensive directions to our car parks at least a month before the event. These directions are from the M1, M40 and A5 and will help you minimise traffic delays.
Our amazing volunteers will make sure there are ample Silverstone School Parking signs for you follow along the route too.
Our car park volunteers will be able to offer you help and advice on departure routes, please ask them any questions you may have after you’ve parked.
Can you give me a postcode for the car park?
We don’t issue postcodes or 3-words for our car parks as there will be road closures and one way systems around the village and circuit.
Please follow our directions and route signage and ignore your sat nav!
Support for visitors with Mobility needs
At Silverstone School Parking, we understand that some visitors may need extra support when travelling to and from our car parks. While we do not operate shuttle buses within the village, we aim to provide clear information to help you plan your journey comfortably and safely.
Disabled Parking Spaces
We do not offer dedicated Blue Badge parking spaces at our car parks.
We will always do our best to help, but advanced contact is essential, as we cannot accommodate requests made upon arrival.
To avoid disappointment, please contact us in advance of booking for further advice.
Disabled Access On Site
Most areas have level or gently sloping access, with surfaces including grass, tarmac, and hard‑standing. Our amazing volunteers will be on hand to offer on the day guidance about suitable routes
Access From Our Car Parks
Most of our parking areas are grass fields, and depending on which site you are parked at, the walk to the Winterhills pedestrian entrance can take around 30 minutes. Surfaces vary from grass to hard‑standing and may be uneven in places.
Before booking, please check Google Maps to ensure that the local routes meet your mobility needs — there are no shuttle buses operating within the village.
Directions to Winterhills pedestrian entrance:
- From The School and The Firs: Exit via Little London, then follow Towcester Road.
- From Church Street: Exit via Church Street, join the High Street, then continue to Winterhills.
- From Green Lane: Exit via Green Lane, join the High Street, then continue to Winterhills.
How far from the circuit are your car parks?
All our car parks are between 25- and 35-minutes leisurely stroll from the circuits pedestrian access points (Winterhills and main circuit entrances)
All walking routes are fairly flat and paved and are obviously quicker if you have bicycles and scooters!
Our volunteers will be able to give the quickest route to the circuit on the day.
I find walking long distances difficult.
Before booking, please check Google Maps to ensure that the local walking routes from the car parks (see below) to the circuit meet your mobility needs — there are no shuttle services operating within the village.

- From The School and The Firs: Exit via Little London and follow Towcester Road to the High St / Winterhills Junction.
- From Church Street: Exit via Church Street, join the High Street, then continue to Winterhills.
- From Green Lane: Exit via Green Lane, join the High Street, then continue to Winterhills.
Car park facilities and operations
Do you offer blue badge parking?
We do not offer dedicated Blue Badge parking spaces at our car parks.
Most of our sites are grass fields and can involve a significant walk to the Winterhills pedestrian entrance, which may not be suitable for all visitors. (see Support for visitors with Mobility needs)
We also have a limited number of hard‑standing spaces at The School, but these are not Blue Badge bays and cannot be guaranteed on the day.
If you have specific requirements, please contact us at the time of booking so we can confirm whether we are able to assist.
We will always do our best to help, but advanced contact is essential, as we cannot accommodate requests made upon arrival.
What are your car park opening times?
Our car parks open approximately 1 hour before the Circuit gates open and will be manned until the main timetabled F1 attraction.
We are unable to confirm opening times until a month before the event as we are dependant on the circuit timetable. For guidance only our 2025 opening times were:
Friday: 06:30-23:30
Saturday: 06:30-23:30
Sunday (The School): 05:30-21:30
Sunday (All other sites): 05:30-22:30
Please note The School site closes earlier in the Sunday to allow our volunteers to clear the playgrounds and field for the safe return of the primary school children on the Monday. Please respect our request to remove your vehicle by the time requested.
Do you allow camping or overnight parking?
Overnight parking is not available at the request of our landlords; please respect this.
Camping is not permitted at any of our car parks.
Do you have any facilities available for use?
We have portaloos available for the use of our customers and volunteers during the sessions our car parks are manned.
Do you have any paved or hard standing parking?
We have a small number of paved parking spaces available at The School site. If you require hard standing parking, please contact us prior to booking.
All other spaces at The School and our other sites have parking on firm grass only.
Can I reserve / request a specific parking space?
Due to our car park layouts and high volume of vehicles we cannot accommodate on the day requests for specific parking spaces or requirements.
Please contact us at the time of booking so we can confirm whether we are able to assist. While we cannot reserve individual spaces, we will always try to support essential needs when informed in advance.
Do you have any shaded parking areas?
Our parking sites are all large open fields with little natural shade. Please bear this in mind when planning your journey and time with us, especially during hot or sunny weather.
Can I leave an animal in my vehicle
No. For welfare and safety reasons, animals must not be left unattended in vehicles at any of our parking sites
Pedestrian and volunteer safety
All our SSP volunteers will be wearing hi-viz vests when on duty. If you require any medical attention please make yourself known to a volunteer.
Obviously, our car parks can get a little busy at times, please help us keep everyone safe by following volunteer directions and pedestrian signs.
Please refrain from smoking on any of our sites and please place any litter in the bins provided (or take it home at the end of the day).
Pricing and availability
Can we turn up on the day and park?
We cannot guarantee that spaces will be available for on the day parking. To guarantee you can park please book online.
Will the current prices still apply at a later date?
All prices are subject to change without notice.
All prices are exclusive of booking fees.

Silverstone is a small village and we are always working with local landowners to try and secure the maximum number of car park spaces.
Additional spaces will be released if they become available and we always release returned tickets as soon as possible for re-sale.
Will your car parks be open for Thursday?
Thursday parking is dependent on weather conditions and volunteer availability.
A final decision will be confirmed in May each year.
Order changes
I can no longer attend the GP, how can I get a refund?
If you are no longer able to attend the Grand Prix, you can cancel your booking online.
Simply click the link to manage your booking in your confirmation e-mail, then scroll to the bottom and select “Cancel order”
We offer a full refund of the ticket price up until 7 days before the published event start date. After this point we are unable to offer a full refund as we start to incur costs relating to our car parking activities. Our refund policy can be found here.
